Healthcare Chose Me
After graduating from UC Berkeley, I began my healthcare career as an intern in Congressman Pete McCloskey's Washington office. That internship led me to Medicare, and to the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Four decades later, I'm still here.
Who Is Chuck Everett?
It started with a question, not a plan. An internship in a congressional office led to Medicare, and to graduate work at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. From there, healthcare became less a career choice and more a thread that ran through everything that followed.
Early on, that meant building a healthcare delivery and financing model from the ground up in rural New England, learning, firsthand, how the pieces of the system actually connect. It meant growing membership at Express Scripts through the kind of business development that only comes from understanding both sides of a negotiation. It meant integrating medical groups with UCSF, and later, advising emerging healthcare AI companies like CAREMINDr and Allyzent as they worked to bring new ideas into a system that doesn't change easily.
Across four decades, health plans, physician organizations, hospitals, pharmacy benefit managers, academic medicine, healthcare technology companies, and startups, the pattern became clear: promising healthcare innovations don't struggle because the ideas are weak. They struggle to reach the buyers, partners, and decision-makers who can bring them into the market. That's the gap I help close.
My PhilosophyThroughout my career, I’ve learned that a promising healthcare innovation is only the beginning. Commercial success comes from identifying where it creates real value, finding the right buyers and partners, and building the relationships that move it from an idea into the market.
